HTML
html(hypertext
markup language) is not a code, it is only a language for
placing tags, or place holders for objects. object can refer
to images, tables or text. now new versions have emerged and
you will find that learning html is not enough. it is like
having a can of drinks without designs on it to attract buyers.
xml,
asp, dhtml, cgi, javascripts, vbscripts are decorators. they
decorate your html pages and therefore entice viewers. they
not only serves as a form of animation or graphical manipulation,
they also play an important role in database and storage managing.
why would others come to your site now and them without benefitting?
so
here we come to a conculsion that interactivity is required
to keep in touch with the customers. you want to make a site?
you want to show of how good you are in html? well...they
won't be impressed if they cannot participate. if it is just
a family page, then, well, a really simple one will do, but
if you want it international, then programming and scripting
skills are the neccessities.
you
know www.neopets.com, the kiddy site. how about www.blizzard.com?
and some www.hotmail.com? what make people keep going back
again and again? some of the similarities are that they are
up-to-date. keeping your site up to date is important because
you don't want people to think that you are abandoning your
site. they won't come back anymore. another thing is providing
services. this is abit difficult to do because it depends
on your pocket. providing a forum may mean having to add an
extra 1 GB space on the server, and that is money. time is
also money. to write those codes, you need time, plenty of
time(especially for debugging), so you must commit into it.
given
the above situations, learning to make a website for fun and
not for real is just a waste of energy. however, it is never
stupid to learn something more!
