newsletters
i
have subscribed many newsletter from coproate sites. besides
keeping myself updated i also learned how the layouts, designs
and content is done up. all these attribute to a good newsletter
that people will not mind recieving.
we
will talk all about online newsletter in this article. i actually
wanted to give some tip on creating newsletter to people who
would want to know more about the different methods of publicizing
online. one of which would be newsletter -- a very effective
tool if used appropriately. i'll go through the vital aspects
of planning one, but it is a general one. also, please understand
that these comments that i make are just for refrence, i never
promise that it will work. anyway, here it goes:
it
should be clear what your company or you, the individual want
to inform people about. is it offers and priviledges customers
can get during a promotional period? or greetings during festivals
or special events? is it about a new prodcut that you may
want to advertise? is it news about someone else like a person
or a software? a review of something?
sometimes
you may want to let your subscribers to choose from a series
of topics which may include entertainment, electronics, travel
and so on. by having a customised newsletter, subscribers
won't have to look at irrelevant information and will get
more out of the essentials.
some
of the things you may want to add are links to your site or
banners and advertisments from other advertisers -- get commision
at the same time -- but don't go overboard, remember that
subscribers would not like you to spam their mail box.
get
a good editor, use bombastic languages. ensure no mistakes
in the language. get a good designer, create a layout for
easy viewing and navigation. get a good program to store all
subscribers' email addresses and customised information. provided
a good a easy way to unsubscribe and change subcription information.
you can check www.majordomo.com,
one of the most powerful resource for handling newsletter
database, for more information.
decide
how frequent your newletter would be sent out. daily or weekly
or even monthly. if you really don't have much to deliver,
then send only when you have a new product you want to advertise.
a simple greeting makes your customers feel that you care
too. the most importantly, to be on time, don't keep your
subscribers waiting.
